**Role Description**

The primary responsibilities of the Sales Representative will be a combination of the following:
**Key Deliverables -**
- Achievement of set sales targets by - a) Identification and development of new business opportunities by calling on them in person (eg. restaurants, hotels, and catering companies) and b) optimisation of existing client relationships through in person meetings, while broadening the range of products supplied to them.
- Identification of client needs, presentation of product solutions, order taking and processing, negotiation of orders, and ensuring timely delivery of orders to meet client demands.
- Collaboration with internal divisions to ensure optimal client service and satisfaction.
- Gather market intelligence on an ongoing basis while staying informed about market trends.
- Keep clients informed of promotional activity and price increases.

**Administrative requirements**
- Draw and analyse Sales Reports on Fridays and address any drop in sales with client and management.
- Analyse the Debtors Age Analysis data (relevant to your clients) when attending the bi-weekly internal meetings and urgently address the arrears with your clients (if required).
- Obtain copies of clients stock sheets to further familiarise yourself with where the marketing opportunities lie and proactively pursue those opportunities.
- Compile reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis for management such as a) monthly action plan to achieve sales targets b) weekly planned client visits (new and existing clients) and c) daily call sheets of actual client visits with detailed feedback outlining opportunities and problems.
- Maintain client files updated with pertinent information eg. contact details, limits and payment terms etc.

**Qualifications**
- Completed Matric
- Tertiary qualification a definite advantage (**particularly if in hospitality and / or sales & marketing)**:

- Computer literacy is essential

**Other Requirements**
- Fluent in English (read, write and speak)
- Above average conversational capabilities in Afrikaans
- Drivers license (code 8)
- Must be of sober habits
- Non-smoker (preferably)
- Must be willing to travel
- 2-3 years Sales and / or Food Distribution experience (food or hospitality industry an advantage)
