Applications are invited for the above-indicated vacancy within Ngwato Nkosi Group.
The incumbent will report to the corporate IT manager.
**Job purpose**:
The systems administrator is a member of the IT department primarily responsible for on-site IT infrastructure used for on-air broadcast and corporate systems. This role ensures that IT hardware and software are maintained and functional twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
**Key responsibilities**:
Maintenance and administration of IT broadcasting systems (AVID) at Newzroom Afrika.
Installation, configuration, support, and maintenance of servers, PCs, laptops, and mobile devices.
Active Directory administration, including creating, updating, and managing user network profiles and devices.
Support and maintenance of Google Workspace.
Desktop support for PC and Mac operating systems, including setup, networking, printers, and software installations.
Security patch management, such as installing antivirus software and OS updates.
Firewall management.
PABX and VoIP phone management.
Maintaining company backups.
Networking administration and management.
Completing handover reports at the end of shifts.
Logging calls and making enquiries with suppliers when required.
**Skills and competencies**:
**A qualification in computer studies**: MCSE, computer science diploma in networking and cybersecurity, or CCNA.
At least five years of experience administering Microsoft systems.
Knowledge of networking technologies and infrastructure, such as TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.
Knowledge of Microsoft products, including operating systems and tools like WSUS, Active Directory, and SQL.
Familiarity with Linux, OSX, and VMware.
Knowledge of Cisco switches.
Experience in broadcasting is beneficial.
Friendly, dedicated, and a team player.
Detail-oriented.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Approachable and able to collaborate effectively with others.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Capable of logging and escalating calls to vendors when necessary and following up on logged calls.
Ability to investigate and recommend enhancements to optimise service delivery.
Commitment to confidentiality regarding processed and stored information.
Mandatory own transport.
Ability to work shifts and dedicate extra effort and time when needed.
