Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of Professional Sales Representatives to consistently meet territory sales targets, SFE and call objectives, aligning team activities with broader marketing and organizational goals. Optimize and maintain the sales function across the allocated territory to ensure sales targets are achieved, including daily field visits to coach, support and guide the sales team. Support the planning and execution of divisional initiatives such as conferences, speaker programmes and promotional events – both regionally and nationally (CMEs/CDPs). Develop and execute strategic sales action plans in line with the company’s marketing and sales plans, ensuring tactical alignment and measurable outcomes. Engage directly with key stakeholders including General Practitioners, Specialists and Pharmacists to drive business performance. Maintain an up‑to‑date and comprehensive database of all targeted clients within the designated territory. Collaborate closely with the Key Account Manager and National Sales Manager to identify and capitalize on business opportunities within the region. Create and present monthly and quarterly RSM review presentations to the C‑suite. Essential Key Skills & Competencies Extensive line‑management experience in the private pharmaceutical industry of South Africa, with a proven track record in sales operations, strategic planning and performance optimisation. In‑depth knowledge of the South African pharmaceutical market, current healthcare trends, and regulatory environment. Strong relationship‑building and communication abilities, capable of motivating diverse audiences. Financial acumen to manage budgets and resources effectively within business limits. Demonstrated sales and product knowledge with a record of building plans and achieving targets across therapeutic areas. Ability to work autonomously and thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. Solid understanding of pharmaceutical and medical device data and marketing principles. Excellent verbal, interpersonal, presentation and computer literacy skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel). Experience in the CNS therapeutic area is advantageous. Qualifications A graduate degree in any science stream. 5‑8 years of experience in Sales & Marketing, with at least 3 years as a Regional Sales Manager. Strong Neuroscience experience is mandatory. In‑depth understanding of the South African pharmaceutical industry, customer segmentation, behaviour and competition. Proficiency in sales forecasting and data analysis to track performance metrics and generate reports. Knowledge of Neurology and Psychiatry therapeutic areas. Understanding of statutory and regulatory guidelines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a zeal for coaching/mentoring. Ability to make data‑driven, problem‑solving decisions.
