Job Description Are you a mechanical engineer with a passion for reliability safety and driving world-class maintenance strategies? A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their high-performance team in Sasolburg. This role offers the opportunity to lead and influence asset care strategies, capital replacement projects and ensure regulatory compliance in a complex fast-paced production environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in condition monitoring, pressure piping compliance and reliability-centred maintenance while contributing to long‑term plant performance and safety excellence. Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with OHS Act, Pressure Equipment Regulations and ISO standards (18001) Plan and manage capital replacement projects from design to handover Oversee pressure piping inspection programmes and improve equipment reliability Drive continuous improvement in maintenance strategy and root cause analysis Develop maintenance standards, safety procedures and Scopes of Work Control maintenance budgets and supervise third‑party service providers Ensure QA/QC processes are followed across all maintenance activities Support the implementation of a Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) system Key Requirements BEng (Mechanical) preferred; BSc (Mechanical) may be considered Minimum 5 years experience in heavy industry, mining or chemical process environment Proven experience in project management and equipment condition monitoring Strong understanding of piping systems and applicable standards Familiarity with CMMS maintenance planning and reliability systems Excellent knowledge of pressure equipment regulations and root cause analysis tools Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Ability to interpret P&IDs and develop technical documentation High attention to detail, qualitydriven and self‑motivated EE Disclaimer All positions will be filled in accordance with the company’s Employment Equity plan.
