Posted on: 11/10/2025 - Apply before: 11/15/2025 As the supervisor, you ensure adequate supervision and compliance to legal requirements with respect to the operation of the Gas Test Station You ensure that no external influences are brought to bear on the test shop or its personnel that will affect its independence, impartially and integrity Ensure that Test Shop maintenance is covered by a maintenance management system and, where necessary, that plant and equipment is maintained in accordance with manufacturing instructions and OEM requirements Ensure that all Test Shop operators receive training and competence assessment in the work activities which they have to perform, with specific emphasis on any risk control procedures identified by the general risk assessment Proactively, update branch work instructions and procedures in line with modifications to Test Shop facilities and activities and any residual risks identified by the general risk assessment Furthermore, you ensure periodic self-audits are undertaken for the test shop and corrective actions implemented and participate in the site quality management review with specific emphasis on the Test shop What makes you great You possess a relevant experience and or technical qualification, with a completed apprenticeship of full learnership under a mechanical discipline, at least 12 months working experience within a gas test station directly relation to pressure receptacle inspection, testing and management of the gas test station You have detailed knowledge of the hazards, procedures and equipment associated with gas cylinders You are familiar with the general requirements of standards and regulations for cylinders inspected and tested by the Test Shop. (SANS 1825, SANS 10019, ISO17020, SANS 18119, EN 14876 as well as SANS Documents – R-03, R04, F -147, R76, TR-86-02, Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1993 and LiDAP chapters specific to container maintenance and test shop) Why you will love working with us Afrox is a market leader in gases and welding products and part of Linde.
