Job Title/Position: Financial Services – Audit Manager (with global markets experience) Number of Positions: 2 Function and Business Unit: Financial Services – Banking Description of the Role and Purpose: The Financial Services Audit division provides audit services to the largest banking clients in South Africa. Audit managers are responsible for guiding, managing, and overseeing the planning, staffing, and supervision of audits of large banking clients. This role also involves managing Global Markets division audits at banks, aiming to deliver high-quality audits that add value to clients' businesses. Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee the planning and execution of large audits of banking divisions, including global markets/treasury divisions. Engage with group auditors and joint auditors regarding cross reviews and ISA 600 responsibilities. Liaise with specialists such as actuaries, tax professionals, and IT auditors to determine scope and impact on the audit approach. Provide IFRS technical guidance, audit operational leadership, and uphold audit quality with a focus on professional scepticism. Present audit findings to clients and assist with audit committee documentation. Manage staff, ensuring resource planning and team transformation. Promote a strong culture supporting audit quality, objectivity, ethics, and integrity. Drive audit quality in response to stakeholder and regulator needs. Review work performed by junior team members to ensure risk factors are properly addressed. Communicate effectively with senior client staff. Manage engagement billings, collections, and identify overrun opportunities. Skills and Attributes Required: Understanding of IFRS, especially IFRS 9 financial instruments. Deep knowledge of audit risks in banking environments. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Ability to see the bigger picture and work under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Up-to-date knowledge of financial services industry, auditing standards, and best practices. Initiative, enthusiasm, and self-drive. Minimum Requirements: CA (SA) or equivalent qualification with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
