Communications Manager – Conservation International Position Summary Desired base: Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, or Colombia. This role is part of the Seed Fund Delivery Team, supporting the implementation of Country Packages that protect high‑biodiversity and high‑carbon areas. Seed Fund Overview The Seed Fund is a strategic fund administered by Conservation International. It provides timely, strategic assistance to conserve vital reserves of biodiversity and irrecoverable carbon, and to kickstart the implementation of ‘Country Packages’ in host countries. Key Responsibilities Administers the dissemination of information or messaging internally and externally; reviews and edits messages to donors to ensure clarity, thoroughness, and consistency with the Fund’s brand. Drafts and distributes press releases, fact sheets, and other documents; solicits news coverage; responds to media inquiries; schedules and coordinates media interviews. Creates and manages content for the organization’s websites, coordinating with website teams to ensure updates are accurate, indexed, and searchable; performs QA for new online content. Working Conditions Extended work hours may be required, including non‑traditional work hours. International travel up to 30% of the time may be required. Flexible work arrangements will be discussed during the interview process. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree and 4–6 years of experience in communications. Comprehensive knowledge of field concepts, technical expertise, and ability to perform complex tasks following established processes. Management, oral and written communication, persuasive communications, and influence skills. Teamwork, interpersonal skills, and capacity to build collaborative relationships. Planning skills and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities. English fluency; proficiency in a second regional language (French or Spanish) preferred. Preferred Experience with MS SharePoint design, database creation, and management. Experience producing and disseminating knowledge‑management products and training materials. Experience conducting M&E, including developing performance indicators, designing surveys, analyzing data, and presenting findings. Expertise in crisis communication.
