SUMMARY Gqeberha, Eastern Cape Closing date : 30 November 2025 A leading South African retail brand is seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Promotions Manager (Trade Marketing Specialist) to join its marketing division. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to shape and deliver high-impact promotional strategies that drive sales growth, brand engagement, and customer loyalty across a large retail network. Purpose of the Role The Promotions Manager will develop, implement, execute and oversee both national and regional promotional programmes — ensuring all campaigns are executed efficiently, on budget, and with measurable results. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands‑on execution skills, excellent stakeholder management, and a passion for retail innovation. Key Areas of Responsibility Lead the end‑to‑end planning and rollout of national and regional promotions that support retail and distribution sales objectives. Collaborate with buying, marketing, and operations teams to deliver cohesive promotional campaigns. Manage annual promotional budgets, track expenditure, and ensure all activities align with financial targets. Develop a special promotions calendar that leverages key retail periods, customer trends, and brand opportunities. Oversee the performance and development of the promotions team, ensuring service excellence across the promotional value chain. Negotiate advertising spend and secure partner funding to enhance promotional execution. Monitor performance metrics and utilise data tools to analyse product, pricing, and campaign outcomes. Coordinate with retail operations to ensure smooth execution of launches, events, and promotional activities. Maintain flexibility to work beyond standard hours during key promotions or special events. Minimum Qualifications and Experience National Senior Certificate (Matric). Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Purchasing, or a related field. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in marketing or promotions, ideally within the FMCG or retail sector. Strong project management capabilities and proven experience delivering campaigns from concept to completion. Advantageous: AS400 and / or previous buying experience. Valid, unendorsed driver’s license and own vehicle. SA citizen with a clean criminal history. Core Competencies Strategic planning and commercial acumen. Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
