Position Overview Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director: Treasury Services is a key member of the Finance Leadership team and a strategic business partner to the university community. The primary purpose of this position is to manage UCT's treasury functions including servicing UCT's Joint Investment Committee and Foundation. In addition, the investment strategies of these committees must be managed in conjunction with specialist external service providers and actuaries. The role is responsible for planning, coordinating and directing the activities and operations of the Treasury Services section in providing banking and investment services to all UCT departments and faculties. Responsibilities Strategic Treasury Leadership Treasury and Banking Operations Investment Portfolio Management Stakeholder Relationship Management Bank Account Administration People and Team Management Qualifications & Requirements Qualified Chartered Accountant Minimum of 10 years recent and relevant experience working in Treasury or Financial Services At least 5 years of experience in a mid to senior management role with strategic level operations and decision making Proficiency in appropriate accounting and financial management practices Proficiency in Accounting (e.g., SAP/ERP) systems and IT skills to perform optimally Excellent interpersonal skills reflecting strategic thinking, diplomacy, and a collaborative approach Ability to engage and manage various stakeholders effectively Excellent communication and presentation skills Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet goals and objectives Experience in people, resource and operational management Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in the performance of all work assignments Ability to multi‑task and prioritise work accordingly to meet deadlines while staying on task with daily assignments Application Requirements Covering letter addressing the above criteria and a statement on your potential contribution as Director Curriculum Vitae (CV) Three referee names (title, name, position details, relationship to you, e‑mail address, telephone number) Copy of your qualifications (CA) and ID Shortlisted candidates may be required to undergo competence assessment.
