Role Description: Access Control & CCTV Engineer (Cape Town) This is a full‑time technical role for an experienced Access Control and CCTV Engineer. The position includes programming, commissioning, maintaining, and supporting enterprise electronic security systems. You will work on large, multi‑site environments where reliability, integration, and backend competency are critical. The role covers: System programming, configuration, and advanced commissioning Troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on live enterprise systems SQL database work including queries, reporting, data integrity checks, and backend troubleshooting Integration support between Access Control, CCTV, alarms, VMS, and third‑party systems Site surveys, technical assessments, and solution recommendations Supporting clients during go‑live phases and post‑implementation Working closely with project teams to deliver high‑quality outcomes on time Experience in high‑security, compliance‑driven environments is a strong advantage. Key Requirements & Qualifications Strong programming and commissioning experience on enterprise Access Control and CCTV solutions Solid understanding of networks, servers, storage, and IP‑based security systems Ability to diagnose complex system issues across software, hardware, and databases Hands‑on experience with system integrations and API‑driven workflows Strong documentation habits and ability to communicate technical detail clearly Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel when required Highly Advantageous Certification or proven experience on one or more of the following: Gallagher Command Centre Milestone XProtect (Core/Expert/Corporate) Experience with large multi‑site deployments Background in enterprise project based deployments Strong networking background on enterprise solutions – Aruba, Cisco, Ruckus, Dell etc What We’re Looking For Someone who is calm under pressure, solutions‑driven, and takes pride in getting systems stable and running smoothly. A person who is comfortable in the backend as much as on‑site — someone who can open SQL, troubleshoot logs, review network flows, and still support a technician in the field.
