Job Title: Commercial Pricing and Insights SpecialistLocation: Cape Town Purpose To support the development and execution of pricing strategies through research, analysis of market trends, competitor pricing & internal data and provide support to commercial and operational management in decision-making based on focused recommendations on pricing and market information and availability of actionable insights to drive revenue growth, improve margin performance, and enhance customer value perception. What You Have Done Before Baseline: NQF Level 7 (Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Data Science, Actuarial, Engineering, or related) 8 years' experience in pricing strategy development & market analysis Experience in pricing, data analytics or market insights. Experience in BI tools to generate dashboards and reports (SQL, Advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau) Advantageous Experience in B2B, B2C, or e-commerce. Knowledge of pricing software (ability to utilize these to manage & optimize pricing strategies) Exciting Challenges You Might Face Navigating complex pricing structures across diverse products and markets. What You Will Be Doing Pricing Strategy Support the development, implementation and maintenance of a competitive pricing strategy that is aligned with business objectives. Monitor and analyze price performance across products, customers, and channels. Support new product launches with pricing models and financial simulations. Contribute to the formation of a key element of the pricing strategy through expertise and insights, to ensure delivery of strategic goals and business needs. Ensure constant review of pricing policies to ensure alignment with expected results. Market Insights & Competitor Intelligence Conduct market and competitor assessment to ensure correct evaluation of the competitive landscape, competitor strengths and weaknesses and identification of opportunities and threats. Conduct competitive benchmarking and pricing analysis. Stay informed of market trends, industry shifts, and customer behaviours. Analyze and research customer and market conditions and facts in order to develop a full and comprehensive understanding of the customer and its market to enable maximum returns. Translate external market data into actionable insights for strategic planning. Evaluate competitor pricing, market conditions and customer behaviours to inform pricing strategies. Research and analyse market data and intelligence to inform marketing and sales plans. Analyse and research market conditions to develop a full and comprehensive understanding of the market to enable it to be exploited for the benefit of the brand, product or service. Data Analytics & Reporting Ensure design and creation of reporting strategies and lead the execution, identifying and interpreting complex patterns and trends and translate these insights into actionable recommendations. Analyze pricing data to identify patterns, anomalies and opportunities. Perform financial analysis to evaluate the impact of pricing changes and promotional campaigns. Generate comprehensive reports on pricing strategies, performance metrics, and market analysis. Stakeholder Collaboration Collaborate with the Group Supply & Wholesale team to translate supply pricing into actionable line of business pricing. Collaborate and align cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance and Product teams. Provide recommendations to senior management based on data-driven insights. Additional Responsibilities Assist in the development of promotional and discounting strategies for the various lines of business. Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product development teams to align pricing strategies with overall goals. Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to stakeholders. Pricing Models & Performance Develop and implement pricing models for new and existing products, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Continuously assess the effectiveness of pricing strategies and make adjustments based on market conditions and sales data. Perform field visits and manage pricing analysis reports and performance indicators of prices. Compliance Ensure all pricing strategies comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Maintain correct documentation of pricing policies and decisions to ensure transparency and accountability. Provide support on audit requirements related to pricing practices and compliance. Provide support and capability on teams in relation to pricing compliance standards and best practices. Identify and mitigate risks associated with pricing strategies, ensuring ethical and legal standards are upheld. Working Conditions Travelling to clients. #J-18808-Ljbffr
