SPAR Western Cape is looking for a skilled Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. In this pivotal role, you’ll help maintain the financial health of our business by ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation of member accounts and effective query resolution. Responsibilities: Weekly reconciliation of debtor accounts and accurate financial reporting. Preparation and submission of debit order data to banking institutions. Allocating receipts and ensuring accurate reconciliation with bank statements. Proactively resolving queries and claims through direct communication with retailers. Monitoring overdue accounts and initiating follow-ups. Issuing invoices, pro-forma invoices, credit notes, and applying interest where applicable. Managing credit risk by ensuring accounts remain within set credit limits. Escalating high-risk and failed debit order accounts to management for action. Providing ad-hoc support to the Accounts Receivable Manager as needed. Requirements: Qualification: • Matric certificate with Accounting as a subject (essential).• Credit Management 1–3 qualification (advantageous). Experience: • Prior experience working with Gateway and AS400 systems (advantageous).• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within accounts receivable.• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Skills: • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.• High attention to detail and a meticulous approach to work.• Ability to manage pressure, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.• Strong team player with the ability to work independently when needed.
