Overview Position: Maintenance Planner Location: Cape Town, South Africa Hire Resolve’s client, a leader in the field of precision mechanical manufacturing with its origins in the field of the defense industry, is looking for a Maintenance Planner who will be responsible for developing and implementing maintenance schedules, coordinating maintenance activities, and ensuring the timely completion of maintenance tasks. Responsibilities Create detailed schedules for inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and replacements. Develop check sheets aligned with manuals and incorporate them into the PM system. Tailor maintenance intervals based on usage, recommendations, and historical data. Generate work orders based on SAP schedules. Incorporate predictive maintenance technologies for early issue detection. Establish and communicate maintenance standards and best practices. Collaborate with manufacturers for updated maintenance procedures. Create maintenance procedures / manuals as needed. Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement preventive measures. Use FMEA to assess potential failures and prioritize preventative actions. Regularly review and update preventative maintenance plans based on feedback and data. Maintain a spare parts inventory with defined sources and lead times. Requirements Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or, Certificated Millwright Certified SAP user (Maintenance Module) Fully proficient in using the SAP Maintenance Module. Root Cause Analysis : Ability to conduct thorough root cause analyses to identify and address the underlying causes of equipment failures. Knowledge of Regulatory Standards : Understanding of Safety Regulations : Familiarity with occupational health and safety standards and regulations relevant to maintenance activities Maintenance Planning Experience : Several years of practical experience in maintenance planning, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Preventative Maintenance Expertise : Specific experience in developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs, including setting up of schedules and integrating predictive maintenance technologies within the SAP environment.
