Interpret blueprints and measurements to prepare job specifications, mix plaster to desired consistency and apply it to walls, ceilings, or partitions, smooth plaster with trowels and other hand tools to a clean finish, create decorative textures in the finish coat, apply insulation materials to exterior walls, repair cracks and holes in existing plasterwork, assemble and install metal framing or decorative moldings on walls before plastering, ensure all work meets building codes and standards, maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean and in good working order, follow health and safety regulations to reduce accidents and injuries, and communicate with clients, architects, and other tradesmen to ensure a coordinated approach to projects. Knowledge of different types of plaster and their uses. Ability to interpret blueprints and work specifications. Excellent attention to detail. Good physical condition and stamina. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a plastering apprenticeship would be advantageous. Job Details Trade Test Certificate A MUST.
