Data Science Manager – FNB South Africa Join to apply for the Data Science Manager role at FNB South Africa. To implement the Analytics standards in allocated business units and contribute to the monetisation of data through the development and delivery of advanced mathematical models and business principles that uncover hidden patterns and associations in data used to influence business strategy, inform channel design, and predict client behaviour. Responsibilities Manage a team of 3 data scientists Manage Outbound Campaigns Daily monitoring and re‑dropping to increase reach Campaign automation, testing, and reporting Input into early‑stage campaign planning Troubleshooting automation or data‑related issues Volumes, values, and logic for campaign approval forums Monthly strategic reviews and campaign overlap analysis Manage Inbound Campaigns Trigger build, testing, and monitoring Feature engineering and data extraction Weekly data drops and personalised messaging Strategic insights and support for Context Steerco approvals Opportunity sizing & identification Ad hoc business analytics requests Strategic input to continuously improve campaign effectiveness Ideal Candidate Strong management experience Qualified in Mathematics, Actuarial science, Statistics or a similar discipline Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role Strong SAS skills PowerBI & Python skills as an advantage Benefits Inspiring work environment Work that is challenging Space to make a difference Opportunities to innovate Match Criteria Curious – driven by always wanting to know more and learn more Obsessed with mastery – constantly pushing yourself to excel Courageous – brave enough to think and do things differently and ready to take ownership Team player – believes in the power of teams and builds and leverages networks Emotionally intelligent – high EQ to connect with people, even in technical roles Job Details Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level Employment type: Full‑time Job function: Engineering and Information Technology Industry: Banking Application closing date: 27/11/25 All appointments will be made in line with FirstRand Group’s Employment Equity plan.
