Receiving Manager at Pick n Pay Stores Limited, Fourways, Gauteng Location: Fourways, Gauteng Job Requisition ID: JR Time to Apply: 6 days remaining, ends on 23 September 2025 Position Type: Full time Job Summary We are seeking a Receiving Manager who will be responsible for correctly receiving all deliveries, handling the dispatch of returns to vendors, and managing stock disposal according to company policy. Minimum Requirements Matric (Grade 12). Previous experience as a Receiving Supervisor is required. The ability to read and interpret reports. Competencies Achieving results through others. The ability to plan, organize, and follow up on activities and plans. Strong personal communication skills, including clearly conveying messages and active listening. The ability to adhere to standards, procedures, and policies. A strong customer-oriented approach. Business-mindedness. The ability to work long and flexible hours, and in a physically demanding, pressurized environment. Willingness to receive goods in open areas under all weather conditions. Proven high level of confidentiality. The ability to solve unfamiliar problems by generating workable solutions. Reliable and trustworthy. Completes tasks fully to high standards of quality, in a precise and accurate manner. The ability to identify and prioritize urgent matters and attend to them immediately. A focus on completeness and accuracy, with the ability to constantly identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, and mistakes. The ability to cooperate and participate with others to achieve goals. Assertive and influential in a confident, firm, and fair manner. Key Responsibilities 1. Receiving: Ensure all deliveries are received according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Manual. Assist with the offloading of trucks. Process all returns, including goods, equipment, and recyclables, as per the SOP Manual. Meet all receiving deadlines required by the SOP. Ensure receiving areas are kept to the required standards, as detailed in the Receiving Check Lists. Immediately report all checklist failures to the relevant personnel. Complete and file all required documentation. Conduct and review end-of-day procedures. Reject stock or deliveries that do not adhere to standards, processes, or rules. Respond to queries regarding DC claims. 2. Health and Safety: Maintain housekeeping standards both inside and outside the Receiving Department. Adhere to safety standards related to receiving practices and equipment usage. #J-18808-Ljbffr
