The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring the Cape Union Mart and K-Way brand’s social media presence across various platforms. The role requires a strategic thinker with strong communication skills, a deep understanding of social trends, and a creative eye for content that aligns with the company’s voice and objectives. The position supports both organic and paid strategies to grow brand awareness, engagement, and conversion. Key Responsibilities Develop and produce engaging content across all relevant social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, X). Plan, create and deploy engaging content that aligns with Cape Union Mart or K-Way brand values (incudes videos) Maintain a content calendar in alignment with marketing campaigns and key brand moments. Monitor social media channels daily, actively engaging with audiences, responding to comments and DMs, and escalating issues where necessary. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., design, copywriting, PR, product teams) to ensure consistent messaging and timely execution of campaigns. Provide social media support at key marketing events, including some after-hours participation. Brief, manage and liaise with influencers or creators for partnerships and collaborations. Stay updated on social trends, algorithm changes, and emerging platforms to propose innovative approaches. Ensure that all content adheres to brand guidelines, tone of voice, and platform-specific best practices. Compile and present monthly performance reports and insights to the broader team. Required Skills & Experience A relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media or a related field. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a social media role, preferably in a brand, agency, or lifestyle/fashion/e-commerce context. Strong content creation abilities, video content from conceptualization, shoot to editing Proficiency in social media platforms and tools (e.g., Canva, Sprout Social, CapCut). Strong understanding of social media analytics and ability to translate data into actionable insights. Experience in community management and influencer coordination is an advantage. Basic understanding of paid media advertising on social platforms is advantageous. Creative thinker with strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Personal Attributes Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
