We are seeking a seasoned Quantitative Analyst and Risk Specialist with over 15 years of proven experience in the oil & gas, natural gas, petrochemical, and power generation industries. The ideal candidate is a recognized expert in risk assessment and management, holding strong certifications in HAZOP, SIL / SIF, and quantitative risk methodologies, with the ability to lead critical safety and reliability initiatives across complex projects. This is a 6‑month contract position. Key Responsibilities Risk Management & Analysis: Lead and execute Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) for oil & gas, petrochemical, and power projects. Perform probabilistic risk assessments (PRA), failure mode analysis (FMEA/FMECA), and risk quantification for high‑hazard environments. Deliver Safety Integrity Level (SIL/SIF) analysis and ensure compliance with IEC standards. Conduct and lead HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, and bow‑tie risk assessments, ensuring robust hazard identification and mitigation strategies. Develop and present risk models, safety cases, and reliability studies for key stakeholders and regulators. Provide risk‑based input into project design to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant engineering solutions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet global standards and regulatory requirements (API, ISO, IEC, SANS, OSHA, etc.). Verify that all safety and risk control measures are implemented during design, construction, and operational phases. Support the development of safety management systems, risk frameworks, and assurance processes. Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement Act as the technical authority on risk for oil & gas and energy‑related projects. Lead risk workshops with engineers, contractors, and operational teams to align risk understanding and mitigation strategies. Provide expert training, mentoring, and knowledge transfer in QRA, SIL, and hazard assessment methodologies. Interface with regulatory bodies and external auditors, ensuring projects achieve compliance and certification standards. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, risk management, or a related discipline. Experience: 15+ years in risk management, quantitative analysis, and safety assessment in natural gas, petrochemical, oil & gas, and/or power generation. Strong credentials in HAZOP, SIL/SIF, QRA, and functional safety standards (e.g., TÜV Functional Safety, IChemE, or equivalent). Advanced knowledge of risk modelling tools (e.g., PHAST, Safeti, BowTieXP, or equivalent). In‑depth understanding of HAZOP, LOPA, FTA, ETA, and SIL assessments. Strong grounding in process safety management (PSM) and regulatory frameworks. Strong report writing, analytical, and stakeholder presentation skills.
