General Assistant (External Applications Only) Location: East London, EC, South Africa Job Type: External Responsibilities Ensure comprehensive customer service in store. Merchandising of stock, shelf price labelling and housekeeping within the designated area. Advise and assist customers on correct products and queries. Assist with and resolve customer complaints. Maintain merchandising standards: bulk stock area merchandised safely according to store layout plan, ensure area of responsibility is fully merchandised per planograms. Housekeeping: keep area free of obstacles, stock merchandised immediately after receipt, aisles safe for customers. Correct shelf price labelling within area of responsibility. Ensure safety (OHSA) compliance, use safety gear, ensure safety of customers and staff. Report discrepancies and damaged stock to the store manager. Manage stock loss. Requirements Minimum Grade 10 or NQF 3 with one year of relevant work experience, or Grade 12 without related experience. Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language. Valid South African ID or work permit. Ability to perform basic calculations accurately. Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Ability to work under pressure.
