Director : Commercial Solutions - SSA CommercialDP World City of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa The role is to provide expert advice, lead and coordinate all aspects of supply chain solution analysis, design and implementation for clients while demonstrating comprehensive understanding of client strategy and business requirements, matched with DP World’s capabilities. Works directly with potential new clients (or current clients with expanded scope) in developing business solutions for their end‑to‑end supply chain. Working at multiple levels with the customer, their strategic partners and internal teams, to design customised solutions for the client’s supply chain. Key Performance Areas People Management: Fostering a collaborative and high‑performance culture. Provide guidance, mentor, and support to the team, ensuring their professional development and growth. Support resource planning process based on the solutions pipeline. Identify and support attract‑and‑retain plans. Plan, organise and prioritise with the wider team in order to achieve objectives. Supply Chain Solution Design and Optimisation: Collaborate with clients to understand their supply chain requirements, challenges, strategies and objectives. Utilise industry best practices and emerging trends to design innovative and efficient supply chain strategies. Continuously assess and analyse the performance of existing supply chain solutions and DP World’s capabilities to identify opportunities for improvement, optimisation and digitisation. The proposed solution will assess risks, confirm requirements, document integration points, develop a commercial model and enablers. Build a commercial model and business case for additional investment, disinvestment or reassignment of resources based on the financial impact and business need. Documents, presentations and written communication are in consistent templates, following logical flows. Demonstrates detailed knowledge and expertise in relation to the job, readily absorbs new technical information and keeps up to date in specialist areas. Development of Statement of Work with customer; ensures customer requirements, service levels and integration point are clearly understood and communicated. Conducting customer meetings, setting and managing customer expectations by exercising moderately complex risks, issues and change‑management best practices. Project Management & Cross‑Functional Collaborations: Oversee the end‑to‑end solution lifecycle, from initial concept to implementation and post‑implementation evaluation. Create project plans, set milestones and allocate resources effectively to ensure on‑time and on‑budget delivery of solutions. Create action plans when required, for problem resolution and solution amendment, gaining acceptance from relevant parties and commitment to execute. Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, finance, IT, procurement and regional teams within DP World, to ensure seamless integration of supply chain solutions.
