About the Role A global organisation in the energy equipment & services sector is seeking a Temporary Tax Accountant to support tax accounting and compliance across multiple African jurisdictions. You'll collaborate with international finance teams, ensure adherence to local regulations and US GAAP / SOX, and help standardise robust tax control processes in a dynamic, multinational environment. Key Responsibilities Manage corporate tax accounting and compliance across African entities.Review statutory tax returns, including Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, Stamp Duty.Oversee quarterly and annual tax provisions for US GAAP reporting (ASC / ASC ; formerly FIN 48 / FAS 5).Review annual US GAAP tax webforms and supporting schedules.Support SOX reporting and maintain strong tax control processes.Partner with local and central finance teams to strengthen tax-related internal controls.Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX, and local tax regulations.Lead and maintain standardised balance sheet tax account reconciliations.Liaise with external tax service providers as required. Qualifications BCom (or similar); Tax specialisation preferred.Experience 5+ years in Tax Accounting and Tax Compliance.Exposure to tax in the African region is essential.Experience in a multinational group is advantageous.Strong knowledge of direct and indirect taxation (Corporate Tax, VAT, WHT, Stamp Duty, etc.).Proven ability to collaborate with multi-country finance teams.Excellent tax accounting, compliance, and reconciliation capabilities.High attention to detail; able to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.Independent, proactive, highly organised, and comfortable taking initiative.
