Rhodes University HR Officer (Grade 11) Division of People and Culture Main Objectives To provide efficient HR administrative and basic professional support across the institution. They also support the Senior HR Practitioners in delivering a high-quality and valued HR professional service. The HR Officers operate in a shared service unit, focusing on improving accuracy, ensuring timely service delivery, and promoting consistency and fairness through the uniform application of HR policies and procedures. The unit further enhances the employee experience by offering accessible and responsive HR support, while serving as a central hub for HR administration, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across all departments and divisions. The Shared Service Unit reports to the Manager of Recruitment and Staffing. Requirements Bachelor’s degree or any relevant NQF level 7 qualification with a major preferably in Industrial Psychology or Human Resources (Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree will be preferred), plus approximately three years’ relevant experience, where such experience includes: Administration with a strong focus on implementing electronic administrative systems and processes. At least two years of experience in HR administration within an environment utilising an HR information technology system. Implementing structures, systems, and processes to ensure service delivery of a high quality that is valued by others. Exposure to most, if not all, areas of HR (for example, Recruitment and Selection, Employee Relations, Training and Development, Remuneration, Performance Management, HR IT systems, and Well-being) will be a considerable advantage. At least 2 years of experience in a pressurised, high-volume administrative environment, dealing with a large staff complement (minimum of 1000 employees). Previous experience within the Higher Education sector will be an advantage. Remuneration Per Annum (Grade 11) Basic Pensionable Salary per annum: R424 059 Cost to Company per annum (Approximately): R569 518 All applications will be treated in strict confidence.
