Mid-Level Dental Assistant – Periodontal Practice, Pretoria East Posted by Talent Atlas Career Consulting on behalf of our Client. Our client, an established and specialized periodontal practice in Pretoria East, is seeking a Mid-Level Dental Assistant to join their dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and compassionate professional with a passion for providing exceptional patient care and supporting specialized dental procedures. About the Role As a Dental Assistant, you will be the backbone of the clinical practice, providing critical support to the periodontist in a highly professional environment. We are looking for someone with 3-5 years of relevant experience. Key Responsibilities Directly supporting the periodontist during complex procedures such as advanced gum treatments and dental implant surgery. Executing sterilization and infection control protocols to the highest standards. Managing the patient journey—from scheduling and record-keeping to providing reassurance and post‑care instructions. Ensuring that the operatories are fully equipped and prepared for every patient. Required Skills and Qualifications HPCSA Registration: Current and valid registration as a Dental Assistant with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. Qualification: Formal certificate or diploma as a Dental Assistant. Experience: 3-5 years as a Dental Assistant; experience in a periodontal practice is highly recommended. Languages: Fluent in both Afrikaans and English (verbal and written). Technology: Knowledge of dental software and administration is essential. Logistics: Reliable own transport to and from Pretoria East is a requirement.
