STEYN CITY SCHOOL ASSISTANT AQUATICS MANAGER The successful candidate will be required to: Open and close the Aquatics Centre according to scheduled hours. Closely monitor activities related to the pool area and identify any safety issues throughout the shift. Be on hand and respond to any emergencies in the Aquatic Centre. Attend and coach students at home and away games (including all applicable competitions and/or festivals) Attend coaching sessions and games in the early morning and late afternoon. Maintain attendance records and collect pertinent data at all practices. Strong administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills to build good working relationships with athletes, coaching staff, parents, and other aquatic support personnel. Coach students at school and during tours, galas, matches and tournaments in South Africa and abroad. Promote and grow participation in the Water Polo and Swimming Programme for the Preparatory School and the College. Play an active role in the coaching of ‘Learn to Swim’ in the Early Years Centre and Foundation Phase Collaborate with all coaches with the sports department. Requirements CPR and first aid certification • Proven performance in coaching and mentoring student-athletes individually and in teams. Relevant sport related sport qualifications including a Learn to Swim qualification. Ability to manage practices and work nights and/or weekends. Proven ability to work with diverse teams and/or a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
