About The Oncology Team The Oncology team is one of a kind, driven by a commitment to be number one. What You Will Do The successful candidate will drive the commercialization of assigned brands in South Africa, developing and implementing the marketing strategy and operational marketing mix to achieve the brand ambition, delivering budgeted or above sales growth. The role includes launching new products and indications within the Oncology portfolio. Job Description Design, implement, and evaluate marketing activities of assigned products within the product line, including distribution channel solutions (digital, social media, inside sales). Assist in reviewing marketing programs and implementing changes. Analyze market data to identify key segment drivers and work in conjunction with promotional and direct‑to‑consumer teams. Typical Accountabilities Advocate for and drive the brand among office and field colleagues and external customers to ensure the Brand Plan delivers crucial short‑term growth and long‑term brand success. Lead launch excellence for new indications and new brands. Design, implement, and evaluate marketing activities of the assigned brand, including distribution channel solutions. Align global strategic brand plans with local customer & market insights to develop tailored local brand strategy, brand messages and tactical plans. Liaise closely with the sales team to receive market and customer feedback, embed campaigns, and provide brand vision and leadership. Maximise the use of all commercial/medical channels by developing brand materials (digital/print) and activities through cross‑functional collaboration. Continuously embed customer and market insights into all brand activities by synthesising qualitative feedback from various sources with quantitative feedback from data sources and reports. Work with analysts to analyse market data and identify key segment drivers, growth opportunities and business threats. Liaise with cross‑functional team members and external agencies to ensure full communication and success of marketing plans. Manage the budget of assigned brand(s) with an outlook that considers corporate sustainability. Be the product, competitor and market expert for the assigned brand. Essential Skills And Experience Required Completed Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field or related discipline. Minimum 2 years of experience as a brand manager in the pharmaceutical scientific field. Preference for applicants with previous oncology experience. Experience in insight/market research and brand forecasting. Previous sales experience. Experience managing complex projects. Proven brand management experience. Experience launching new pharma products in a market. Desirable MBA in a relevant field. Previous oncology/specialty care experience, multi‑national pharma companies. Understanding of the South African healthcare environment. Why AstraZeneca?
