POSITION PURPOSE To assist the Data Unit Manager in the reporting function of the National Operations Department of Legal Aid South Africa, including the development of web-based collection tools; collection of data; collation, analysis, reporting and publishing of statistical data on behalf of the National Operations Department as well as other departments, and the maintenance of relevant data sources and tables from a National Operations perspective. KEY OUTPUTS To be fully responsible for leading the production, modification and maintenance of websites and web application user interfaces within the National Operations domain. Interpret, specify and provide solutions to business and information needs in respect of BI Reports Writing. To demonstrate knowledge of website design integrated with Legal Aid SA’s other services, making sure they are optimised for user experience and conversion by ensuring that their information architecture is carefully considered. Required to work closely with the National Office team, converting high-level requirements into technical specifications in order to develop complex, interactive, content managed and database driven websites. Develop/design and implement data collection tools/web-based applications to efficiently collect information from decentralised Legal Aid SA offices for national consolidation, using web-based applications. Design business intelligence reports for client departments as required, including the identification of system enhancements and new system developments. Assist in the compilation of daily, monthly, quarterly and annual delivery and other operational statistical reports from the existing Legal Aid SA databases. Monitor and analyse existing and newly developed systems as well as reports to identify shortcomings and ensure data integrity. Provide day-to-day advice and support to users in respect of the above. Ensure efficient and effective knowledge management and sharing of information. Develop own effectiveness in the information systems environment. Proactively engage with external stakeholders in respect of joint programmes and integration of information systems. Responsible for compiling reports to external stakeholders on joint programmes. To proactively drive innovation with new ideas and options made available by new technologies. COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ATTRIBUTES) REQUIRED A recognised Grade 12 certificate plus a three (3) year tertiary qualification or equivalent. Three (3) years of relevant experience in web application development. Proficiency in T-SQL, ASP.NET, C# and MS Reporting Services.
