Role Purpose At Old Mutual Insure (OMI), Solution Engineers are the technical backbone of our digital transformation journey. They design, build, and optimize scalable solutions that power customer experiences and internal platforms. Whether front-end or back-end focused, Solution Engineers collaborate across product, architecture, and business teams to deliver secure, high-performing, and future-ready systems. Key Responsibilities Front-End Solutions Translate UX/UI designs into functional, accessible, and performant applications. Integrate APIs and services seamlessly into front-end applications. Collaborate with designers and product owners to ensure customer-centric solutions. Back-End Solutions Design and implement scalable APIs and microservices (Java, .NET, Node.js, Python). Develop secure data models and manage integrations with internal/external systems. Ensure system reliability through monitoring, logging, and automated testing. Optimize database performance (SQL, NoSQL) for speed and scalability. Collaborate with DevOps to enable CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments. Core Competencies Problem-solving mindset with strong analytical skills. Collaboration and communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders. Adaptability in fast-paced, evolving environments. Continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3–5 years of experience in front-end or back-end development. Proficiency in relevant frameworks (React/Angular/Vue for front-end; Java/.NET/Node.js/Python for back-end). Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
