Mathematics & Mathematical Literacy Teacher Applications are invited for the full-time permanent Mathematics & Mathematical Literacy Teacher JOB PROFILE 01 February or earlier Reports To: HOD: Mathematics Closing Date: 25 November Organisational Description The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls (The Academy) is a world‑class educational platform for girls that is aimed at nurturing a new generation of dynamic women leaders. This residential boarding school is situated in Meyerton, Gauteng Province, with just over students enrolled in Grades 8‑12. Grade 12 students write the Independent Examination Board (I.E.B.) Proof of active registration with SACE. At least 3 years of teaching experience in teaching Grade 12 Mathematics, and the ability to teach Mathematical Literacy up to Grade 12. Ability and willingness to teach Mathematical Literacy in the FET band. IEB and Further Studies Mathematics teaching, marking, and/or moderation will be an added advantage. Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude A passion for enquiry‑based, student‑centred learning. Knowledge of Mathematics curriculum design and assessment frameworks for Grades R to 12. Skill in identifying and bridging students' learning gaps. Extensive understanding of the high school Mathematics curriculum. Awareness and working knowledge of the latest trends in Mathematics education. An ability to create a positive learning environment. Preparedness to be part of the academic team. A demonstrated capacity to work effectively in teams. High levels of competence with technology. A willingness to participate in the broader life of the Academy and to contribute positively to the ethos of the school. A commitment to personal growth. Ability to work independently under pressure and adhere to deadlines. Highly developed and effective administrative skills, with a keen attention to detail. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Effective time management and organisational skills. Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to problem‑solve, think creatively, “think out of the box”, and multitask. Ability to incorporate the school's values into daily teaching.
