About the job Senior Professional Nurse - Clinics DATE OF DISTRIBUTION: CLOSING DATE: DEPARTMENT: SERVICES - CLINICS PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Responsible for providing quality medical primary health nursing care to all patients encompassing physical, psychological, social and spiritual well-being of patients. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Nursing Science Diploma/Degree is essential Registered with SANC is essential Primary Health care Diploma is essential Minimum 2 years experience as a Primary Healthcare Nurse within a mining environment is essential Valid medical certificate is essential or medically fit in order to obtain such certificate COMPETENCIES: Communication skills (written and verbal) Report writing skills Interpersonal skills Analytical skills Medical Electronic Information Systems KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Manages the Primary Health Care clinic. Prepares clinic facilities for optimal efficiency. Chronic and Acute Disease Management. Conducts monthly internal audits and gives feedback to management. Maintains and manages quality nursing care. Maintains quality stock control and monitors stock movement. Identifies clients trends and needs and develops health programs. Ensures accurate electronic record keeping. Conducts Inservice training. Manages discipline within department. Assesses the 'fitness for duty' of team members and takes any subsequent necessary action. Engages in physical safety checks, interventions and coaching. Ensures that health regulations are adhered to and upholds health standards according to the Office of Health Standards Compliance (OHSC).
