Sales Person – Digital Online International E-Commerce B2B Marketplace Specialist Permanent Position | in Johannesburg nearly near Roodepoort (Hybrid / Office-Based) Preferably must be able to start immediately. Must be willing to relocate near the Company – essential (as the company does not pay for your Petrol coming to work or going back to your home) (Hybrid / Office-Based) Must have a Matric / Grade 12 Must have a Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle. Should have a Diploma/Degree in sales, marketing, business, e-commerce, engineering, or similar (advantageous). Additional e-commerce certifications (Amazon, Alibaba, Google Digital Skills) are beneficial. Should have a Minimum 2–5 years’ experience selling products via global online marketplaces (eBay, Amazon Seller, Alibaba, Global Sources, ThomasNet)., etc. Must have a Proven track record of achieving sales targets via online/e-commerce channels. Manage international buyer relationships (USA, EU, UK, Africa, Asia). PERFORMANCE (KPIs) Monthly online sales target achievement. Lead conversion rate per platform. Response time to RFQs / enquiries. Listing quality score and marketplace ratings. Customer satisfaction and repeat sales. Catalogue accuracy and platform compliance. Reduction in cart-abandonment / enquiry-drop rates. Growth in international customer database. The Sales Person will be responsible for driving international online sales through leading global e-commerce and B2B platforms such as eBay, Amazon, Alibaba, AliExpress, Global Sources, ThomasNet, and other marketplace portals. The role focuses on catalogue-based industrial/engineering products, ensuring listings are optimized, leads are converted, customer relationships are maintained, and sales targets are consistently achieved. This role requires a self-driven individual with strong digital marketplace experience, strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage international customers across various time zones. Experience listing, optimizing, and managing catalogue-based industrial or technical products. MUST HAVE Familiarity with international shipping, Incoterms, duties, and export processes. Ensure export documentation requirements are met (commercial invoice, packing list, HS codes, COO). Knowledge of pricing strategies, cross-border payments, online sales funnels, and SEO for e-commerce. Strong understanding of product catalogue management. Ensure compliance with marketplace rules, policies, and global trade requirements. Create, optimize, and update product listings (images, descriptions, technical spec sheets, pricing, SEO keywords). Ensure catalogue consistency across platforms (pricing, stock availability, technical updates). Monitor competitor pricing and adjust strategies to maximise conversions. Oversee order fulfilment coordination with warehouse/logistics teams. Respond to platform enquiries, RFQs, messages, and customer questions in a timely manner. Generate and qualify leads generated through platforms such as Alibaba RFQs, ThomasNet inquiries, Convert online inquiries into sales orders through solution-based selling. Provide technical support and product recommendations based on customer needs. Prepare quotations, pro-forma invoices, and commercial documentation. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery timelines within approved guidelines. Follow up on potential buyers, abandoned carts, RFQs, or partially completed orders. Work closely with marketing to run promotional campaigns, paid ads, and SEO optimisation for marketplace success. Conduct A/B testing on product images, titles, description formats, and pricing strategies. Generate analytics reports for sales performance on each platform. Suggest new platform opportunities (e.g., Etsy, TradeIndia, ImportGenius, Amazon FBA programmes). Support brand awareness initiatives across international online channels. Maintain accurate CRM records of international customers. Assist with stock forecasting based on marketplace demand trends. Track and report KPIs: lead conversion rate, enquiry responsiveness, listing performance, ROAS, monthly sales targets. Ability to read/understand basic technical specifications (industrial products, engineering components etc.). Proficiency with e-commerce dashboards (eBay Seller Hub, Amazon Seller Central, Alibaba Supplier Center). CRM experience (HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce, or equivalent). Strong Excel skills (pricing tables, discount structures, forecasting). Basic digital marketing understanding (SEO, PPC, keyword optimisation). Soft Skills Excellent written and verbal communication (English essential). Proactive and highly responsive to international customer enquiries. Strong negotiation skills across diverse cultural markets. Ability to multitask and manage multiple platform storefronts simultaneously. Detail-oriented with strong follow-through. Self-driven, disciplined, and able to work independently. Based in Johannesburg (office + hybrid optional). International customers may require occasional evening calls/messages. Travel may be required for trade shows or supplier visits. Monthly salary :Sales person online platforms | Basic to R30 000 | and Commission on top Monthly Salary +-: R 30 000 + Commission on top (** Salary package is dependent on skills, Qualifications and years of relevant experience only**) + Discretionary Annual Performance Bonus Please note there is a Pension Scheme which will be taken off your Net Salary, which is not negotiable.
