First 25 applicants will be considered. Job Summary The Lecturer roles involve teaching, research, and administration in the Department of Social Work. The Field Instruction Coordinator focuses on developing field instruction training and overseeing the postgraduate field instruction programme. Qualifications PhD in Social Work or related field; a bachelor’s degree in social work is a requirement. Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions. Knowledge and experience in Occupational Social Work, School Social Work and Social Development. Teaching experience in the departmental focus areas. Proven research ability evidenced by peer‑reviewed publications, conference presentations and research reports. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Demonstrated academic administration experience is an advantage. Responsibilities – Lecturer Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Supervise research students at 4th year, Master’s and PhD levels.> Conduct research at nationally and internationally competitive levels. Participate in curriculum design and development of undergraduate and postgraduate modules. Participate in departmental and school committees. Assist in the development of a skills manual for undergraduate and postgraduate field instruction programmes. Facilitate skills training workshops and tutorials for the field instruction programmes. Conduct field instruction assessments for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Perform academic administration and other duties as determined by the Head of Department. Responsibilities – Field Instruction Coordinator Develop a skills training manual for the undergraduate field instruction programme. Facilitate skills training workshops and tutorials for undergraduate field instruction. Conduct field instruction assessments for the undergraduate module. Participate in the department’s strategic initiatives related to field instruction and community engagement. Serve as the university contact person with field supervisors and placement organisations. Facilitate training workshops for field instruction supervisors. Manage and assist in resolving student‑agency issues. Help in field instruction curriculum development. Perform academic administration and other duties as determined by the Head of Department.
