New restaurant in Pretoria seeking a Pastry Chef Key responsibilities Plan, develop, and produce a wide range of pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods. Design and execute dessert menus that align with the restaurant’s concept and seasonal availability. Ensure consistency and quality in presentation, flavour, and portioning. Monitor inventory and order ingredients and supplies as needed. Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organisation within the pastry section. Develop and test new recipes to enhance the menu offering. Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to coordinate production and service. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Manage cost control, portion sizes, and wastage in line with budget requirements. Qualifications & Experience Diploma or Certificate in Pastry, Baking, or Culinary Arts (formal training preferred). Minimum 2–4 years’ experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of classic and modern pastry techniques. Creative flair with attention to detail and presentation. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong leadership and team communication skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
