We are looking to build on our success in the realm of coastal engineering and are seeking a highly motivated Intermediate Ports and Coastal Engineer to join the Ports and Terminals team in our Cape Town office. Our coastal pipeline currently has a diverse mix of coastal structure design, metocean design conditions and inputs for ports projects, dredging, adaptation planning and coastal management support. We are looking for a coastal enthusiast to help us deliver and expand on our current and upcoming opportunities. As the successful candidate, you will be: Passionate about coastal processes and engineering An exceptional communicator A collaborative worker who thinks laterally and innovatively to solve problems Driven and achievement-oriented Someone who finds satisfaction in creating positive change You bring to the role: Relevant qualifications e.g. as a minimum a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering A commitment to professional development and remaining up to date with the latest advancements and guidance in coastal engineering and science Minimum 4 years of experience in Ports and Coastal Engineering, with a keen interest in the coastal engineering space Strong verbal and written communication skills Willingness to collaborate and work within a team environment A passion and drive to make a real difference Other desirable attributes: Project management capabilities Master's in Ports and / or Coastal Engineering Familiarity with relevant international codes and standards in the marine and coastal environment Experience in dredging design Experience in coastal adaptation planning and design Understanding of on-site coastal construction Track record in project delivery of complex coastal projects Why Hatch?
