Junior Data Analyst

A vacancy has arisen for a Junior Data Analyst reporting to the Head of IT and Risk at Tuning Fork Pty Ltd t/a Yamaha Distributors South Africa. The vacancy is open to candidates with immediate effect. Position Overview To support business operations through the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards, administration of the Syspro ERP system, and the provision of IT support services. This role ensures data-driven insights are delivered to various departments, business systems are optimally configured and maintained, and users receive timely IT support, including for Microsoft 365 tools and collaboration platforms. Power BI Development Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports. Collaborate with business users to define reporting needs and KPIs. Optimise dashboards for performance and usability. Data Management (incl. MRP Data) Clean, validate, and manage Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) and other operational data. Maintain data accuracy and integrity across systems (e.g., ERP Syspro/MRP platforms). Assist in data migration and integration projects. Work with data governance frameworks to ensure data quality and integrity. Analytics and Insights Analyse trends and patterns in operational and business data. Generate regular and ad hoc reports to support departments (e.g., Finance, Operations, Procurement). Provide data-driven recommendations to improve processes. Syspro Administration Support Assist in the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Syspro ERP system. Support Syspro users with day-to-day operational issues and escalate technical problems as needed. Monitor Syspro system performance, ensuring the platform operates optimally. Work with the IT team to implement system updates, patches, and upgrades. Assist in configuring user roles and permissions within Syspro, ensuring proper access control. Participate in Syspro integrations with other business applications. IT Support & Microsoft 365 Administration Provide first-line IT support for hardware, software, printers, and network connectivity. Install and configure workstations and business applications. Support users on Microsoft 365 apps (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.). Troubleshoot email and collaboration issues and elevate as necessary. Assist with user account provisioning, password resets, and license management within Microsoft 365. Help maintain endpoint security, updates, and basic troubleshooting logs. Support and Collaboration Work closely with the IT team, developers, and analysts to support data pipelines and IT infrastructure. Provide documentation, training materials, and end-user guidance. Stay updated on the latest Power BI, Syspro, Microsoft 365, and IT support trends. Deliver hands‑on support to end‑users across departments for both analytics and technical issues. Minimum Requirements National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field. Minimum Experience 2–4 years’ experience in: Power BI or similar BI/reporting tools (Power BI essential) Working with MRP/ERP data (preferably Syspro) Microsoft 365 administration and user support Basic IT support and troubleshooting (hardware, software, networking) Exposure to Syspro ERP system administration is advantageous Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Intermediate Power BI skills (DAX, data modelling, reporting). Good understanding of data structures, ETL, and reporting best practices. Basic SQL knowledge and data transformation skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive). Familiarity with IT support principles and ticketing processes. Clear communication skills with technical and non-technical users. Time management and the ability to prioritise tickets and project work. Basic knowledge of networking, hardware configuration, and endpoint security. Personal Attributes Proficiency in SQL and Power BI (strongly preferred). Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900) or equivalent entry-level SQL certification. Exposure to Python, R, or other analytics tools. Experience with Syspro ERP system (user and/or administrative level). Microsoft 365 certifications (e.g., MS-900, MD-102) or equivalent experience. Familiarity with Active Directory and endpoint management tools. Experience with IT ticketing/helpdesk systems (e.g., Freshservice, Jira, etc.).
