About the Role As a Data Engineer, you’ll be embedded within the client’s advanced data factory, collaborating closely with their data science team to build and optimise robust data pipelines and analytics infrastructure. This is a hybrid role based in Century City, Cape Town, offering you the flexibility to combine remote work with valuable on-site collaboration. This environment encourages creativity and fresh thinking - you’ll have the freedom to introduce new ideas, experiment with tools, and influence how data is engineered across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures Collaborate with data scientists to deliver integrated data solutions Leverage Hadoop to manage and process large datasets efficiently Utilise SQL and PowerBI for reporting, dashboards, and analytics delivery Work with a variety of modern data engineering tools and platforms Contribute to process improvements and advocate for engineering best practices What You’ll Bring Proven experience in a data engineering role Strong hands-on expertise with Hadoop (this is essential) Proficiency in SQL and PowerBI Exposure to a range of data engineering tools and platforms Solid communication and collaboration skills A proactive, innovative mindset with a passion for data Nice to Have Opportunity to work in a highly creative and collaborative data environment Hybrid setup offering both flexibility and in-person innovation Projects with real impact in a fast-moving sector Supportive culture where new ideas are welcomed and encouraged Company Culture Our client is more than a consultancy — they’re a global community of innovators, craftsmen, and change-makers.
