Location: On-site JHB Position type: Full-time Seniority: Senior level with team leadership responsibilities We are looking for an experienced, hands‑on Senior Designer to lead a team of 7 designers while actively contributing to high‑level design work. This role is fully on‑site and is suited to someone who enjoys both creating exceptional design and developing a team to reach higher standards of creative output. Role Breakdown 60% – Hands‑on design work Produce high‑quality design for B2B clients. Collaborate with copywriters on campaigns and content projects. Maintain high standards of creative execution and craft. 30% – Team leadership and quality control Mentor, guide, and support a team of 7 designers. Provide feedback and help elevate creative output. Implement best practices and drive improvement. 10% – Client communication and briefing process Work closely with the Client Service Department. Attend client meetings (often with senior‑level stakeholders) to discuss and develop briefs. Present work and communicate design direction clearly from concept through to completion. Requirements Candidate Profile A strong communicator, confident in client‑facing situations. A highly skilled designer with solid conceptual and visual design capabilities. Experienced in leading and motivating creative teams. Comfortable managing the full design process, from client briefing to final delivery. Committed to working fully on‑site and collaborating in a studio environment. Required Technical Skills Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, XD). Experience with Figma is beneficial. Strong understanding of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy. Ability to work across platforms (digital, presentations, and print). Experience with motion graphics software (e.g., After Effects) is advantageous. Basic familiarity with HTML/CSS or interactive design tools is a plus. Professional Requirements 5 to 8+ years of professional design experience. Agency experience, especially in B2B design, is preferred. Prior studio or team leadership experience is highly beneficial. Strong portfolio showcasing design craft and conceptual work. Proven ability to present and communicate design concepts clearly.
