The purpose of this Position The successful candidate will be detail-oriented and be responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of potential and existing clients, making recommendations based on comprehensive financial assessments, mitigating risk exposure, maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with credit policies. Duties & Responsibilities: New Customer Risk Assessment: Compile Documents related to all customer applications. Ensure that FICA related, and Internal documentation is received. Assess the completeness and expiry dates of all the received documents. Verification of all documentation is a requirement. Evaluate the customers’ credit worthiness by following the guidelines and using the system applications provided. Develop risk Profiles, set appropriate credit limits and make recommendations. Maintain up to date knowledge of industry trends, economic conditions and regulatory requirements. Existing Customer Risk Assessment: Ensure that FICA related, and Internal document requirements are up to date. Re-evaluate the customers’ credit worthiness according to the increased credit limit that they require. Evaluate the customers’ credit worthiness by following the guidelines and using the system applications provided. Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor existing customer base for change in financial health, credit worthiness and market conditions. Prepare and distribute reports on customer performance, highlighting areas of concern and recommending measures to minimize risk exposure. Collaboration of Relationship Management: Work closely with sales, finance and legal teams to make recommendations to manage customer accounts. Maintain strong relationships with sales and finance teams and provide support where needed. Compliance and Process Management: Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, industry regulations and best practices in credit and risk. Identify process improvements to enhance credit policies, industry regulations and best credit risk management. Record Keeping: Ensuring customer information is kept updated. General maintenance of all Customer accounts. Adverse Reports: Complete and return any adverse reports to Experian. General: Digital and hardcopy filing of all documents. Requirements and Skills: Matric. A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field. In-Depth knowledge of Credit and Risk and minimum 5 years’ experience in Credit and Risk Department. Knowledge of relevant Legislation: NCA, FICA, POPI. Strong analytical, financial and problem-solving skills. Strong communication, negotiation and decision-making skills. Excellent time management and the ability to work in a highly pressured environment. NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
