Senior Security Inspector – Epping at SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd Job Description The Senior Security Inspector will lead the security operations at the Epping site, ensuring the safety and protection of personnel, assets, and facilities. Responsibilities Conduct daily inspections of security equipment and conduct regular parades. Perform uniform inspections and liaise with external service providers regarding operational requirements. Deploy security staff to critical access control positions, yard searches, and escort high‑value loads. Compile, submit, and maintain security reports, risk & incident reports, overhead cost reports, and monthly audit reports. Review CCTV footage daily to identify risks, incidents of crime and policy transgressions. Ensure the security logbook and inventory lists are current and that all equipment, alarms, and systems are operational. Enforce discipline, health & safety regulations, and adherence to SOPs and legislation. Ensure the release of material from site aligns with company policy. Conduct investigations and produce detailed reports for management. Coordinate with the Security Manager to compile rosters and oversee PSIRA registration of security staff. Perform ad‑hoc tasks as required by management. Qualifications Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent with good numeracy and literacy skills. Driver’s licence and own, reliable transport. 3–5 years of supervisory experience in the safety & security sector. PSIRA registration – Minimum Grade A. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Willingness to work irregular hours (shifts) and overtime. Good health and sober habits. Control Room experience is advantageous. Attributes Trustworthy and honest. Ownership and accountability. Strong application and enforcement of company policies. Fluent in English (read, write, speak). Effective time‑management and organisational skills. Committed, hardworking, and self‑motivated. Strong interpersonal skills and professional work approach. Able to work independently and within a team. Excellent standards in execution and problem‑solving skills.
