The Truck Workshop department currently has a vacancy for a detail orientated, process-driven, dedicated individual to join their team. This position requires someone who is able to work in a fast paced, demanding and pressurized environment. Our comprehensive in-house technical facilities, staffed by Qualified Engineers and Artisans, are responsible for our fleet and equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for attending to breakdowns, inspecting, repairing and maintaining our fleet and equipment. Qualifying Criteria • Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent• Newly/Recently Qualified Diesel Mechanic Red Seal Trade Test certificate• Code 10 Drivers License and valid PDP• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar environment specializing in truck fleet maintenance• Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel)• Must be able to work with minimum supervision• Experience working with an Electronic Maintenance system• Knowledgeable on the Occupational Health & Safety Act• Sound communication skills (understand, read and write English)• Must be prepared to work overtime when required Qualifying Attributes: • Strength to handle materials and tools (physically fit)• Must be of sober habits• Hands on practical approach to the job• Hard working and self-motivated• Good interpersonal and leadership skills• Enjoy practical and manual work & be able to work in a pressurized environment• Must be a team player• Sound understanding of an array of tools and technical equipment• Time management and organizational skills• Display a professional work approach• Result-driven• Logical and detail orientated• Excellent standards in execution Type : PermanentReporting to: Truck Workshop ManagerJob type: Permanent position Benefits include • Provident fund• Life cover• Funeral cover• 15 x paid leave days per annum• Long service leave after five years of employment Standard hours 07:30 – 17:00 Monday - Thursday07:30 – 16:00 FridaysMay be required to work overtime as per operational requirements
