Key Responsibilities Financial Accounting & Reporting Prepare accurate financial records and monthly management accounts. Ensure timely and accurate bank reconciliations and creditor reconciliations. Process cashbook transactions, debtor invoicing, and supplier capturing. Post month-end accruals, payroll journals, and calculate monthly provisions. Prepare income statement and balance sheet reconciliations. Maintain the fixed asset register, capex in progress, and tax registers. Compile monthly report packs, including variance analysis and cashflow forecasts. Assist with preparation of annual budgets and monitor monthly variances. Cash & Debtors Management Prepare and update cash flow forecasts. Confirm inter-company loan account balances. Load EFT payments and manage petty cash. Review debtor age analysis. Support and enforce debtor collections and debtor policy compliance. Year-End & Audit Process accurate year-end adjustments. Assist with closure of year-end financials. Calculate tax provisions. Prepare audit files and provide support during external audits. Taxation Maintain tax records and schedules. Compile and submit tax forms (Income Tax, VAT, EMP). Oversee submission of VAT returns. Complete and reconcile EMP501 submissions. Key Requirements BCom / BCompt in Accounting or Finance. Minimum 5 years experience in a similar senior accounting role. Pastel experience essential; advanced Excel skills required. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and statutory requirements. Hons degree and completed Articles advantageous. Skills & Competencies High attention to detail with strong numerical accuracy. Strong organisational and time management skills. Ability to work independently under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical ability. Willingness to travel within KZN to branches as required.
