Medipost Pharmacy has 6x line regulator positions to ensure that the totes are moved between the packer and strapping of the packed totes. Line Regulator Responsibilities Collecting at the Conveyor Belt: Collect and sort the tote boxes according to date on the trolleys. Priority is given to blue, red & fridge boxes and must be distributed evenly amongst the packing personnel to ensure that they are processed quickly. The tote boxes are to be distributed evenly to all packers continuously throughout the day. If boxes have fallen, they should be taken to a pharmacist for QA stock and to ensure that they are correct. Extra Care on Thursdays: Fridge lines are grouped according to hours and should be handled as follows: 48 hours are split into two groups: Second Group - Sky Net, Dawning, Courierit & Post office are stored in the fridge until the Monday before they are sent out. 24 hours are sent out as per normal procedure. Working at the Strap Machine: The Line Regulator must adhere to the following OHS procedures before working at the strap machine: The strap machine is a type of machine that uses electricity, heat, and has many moving parts. It is important that the Line Regulator receives training on how to work on it and the safety precautions that must be taken. The line regulator must wear a dust coat that is buttoned up. Line regulator must wear a dust mask that is provided by the company. Ensure that the machine is turned off before any strap changing is done. Responsibilities at the Strap Machine: Take the boxes from the conveyor belt and strap them accordingly. Remove and strap the tote boxes ensuring that no strapping takes place over the barcode. Place the parcel ensuring the barcode is on top to enable the scanner on the conveyor to scan it and ensure that the parcel is diverted to the correct courier. If the line regulator finds a box that is open, they should give it to the Supervisor of Packing to investigate further. Care should be taken to strap and sort the boxes before they are sent on the conveyor. Working on or Close to a Conveyor Belt: Must adhere to the general safety precautions for the conveyor belt. Must adhere to the operational safety measures of the conveyor belt. Box Sorting Responsibilities: Remove the empty boxes from the conveyor belt. Sort these boxes according to the colour code. Store the boxes on the shelves provided according to colour. Boxes are to be dispatched to Workflow according to the colour code of the day. Attention must be given to special requests from Workflow regarding specific colours that are required. Housekeeping Responsibilities: Ensure that your area of responsibility is neat and tidy. Report all OHS-related matters like loose cables or anything that can cause harm to a person or the company immediately. Pick up all tote boxes found on the floor and place them in the designated area. Ad Hoc Tasks: Complete all ad hoc tasks that are given, ensuring that they are completed within the time requirement. Stand in for other department Supervisors while they are on leave. Take responsibility for areas where problems are occurring and ensure that they are solved and back on track as soon as possible. Send members to assist in departments where assistance is required.
