Job Summary To plan, manage and monitor the implementation of risk activities and processes in order to deliver on approved operational plans in an effective and efficient manner. Job Description The role is to support the CIB Credit Models governance processes and controls throughout the model life cycle. Responsibilities include: Perform MRM tasks throughout the model lifecycle. Create and maintain exception reports reflecting cases where controls were not executed as per policy requirements. Facilitate annual model inventory attestations and weekly stand‑ups, steering committees, and other governance forums. Participate in conformance reviews against the Group Model Risk Policy and related model standards. Project‑manage PA queries with stakeholders and provide frequent updates. Support the Model Approval Forum and Model Monitoring Forums. Review and assist with Dispensations, Waivers and Breaches (DWBs) submitted against the GMRP. Provide input during internal and external audits or conformance reviews. Facilitate the timely resolution and closure of audit issues and IVU findings. Drive process improvements for BAU related processes. Maintain Model Governance related channels on MS Teams, SharePoint and other platforms. Manage ad‑hoc reporting for stakeholders as required. Assist CIB model owners and findings owners with MRM processes. Stakeholder Engagement Maintain professional relationships with model owners, developers, validation, monitoring, implementation teams and audit. Train new MRM users within CIB Credit. Raise MRM incidents in a timely manner. Communicate governance and control issues to stakeholders. Escalate potential issues and risk to relevant stakeholders. Assist the Credit Governance team with model‑related reporting. Personal and Role Development Develop technical knowledge, regulatory/policy knowledge and softer skills independently. Share knowledge to support team’s overall development. Create a positive, engaging and challenging working environment. Drive best practice sharing and standardisation across Absa Group. Seek regular 360 feedback to identify blind spots and develop self. Attend and actively participate in citizenship/training events. Actively manage soft skills development. Education Bachelor’s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required).Honours Bachelor Degree: BMI – Business Management and Informatics (Required).
