Key Account Manager (Companion Animal) – Zoetis The Key Account Manager (Companion Animal) is responsible for developing and executing strategic account plans that drive growth, strengthen partnerships, and deliver value to Zoetis' key customers across South Africa. This role plays a critical part in achieving commercial objectives by identifying opportunities, negotiating solutions, and ensuring the successful implementation of business initiatives that support the Zoetis Companion Animal portfolio. Reporting Structure: Business Unit Lead – Companion Animals and Equine Location: Johannesburg Responsibilities Understanding of the companion animal industry, trends and landscape Proven delivery of sales results and customer satisfaction Experience with developing and adapting strategic account plans based on in‑depth understanding of customers' needs Maintain a high level of expertise with the evolving portfolio of products, services, pricing and competition Work in close collaboration with key stakeholders and resources to deliver on strategic plans to the customer Work in a matrix organization and coordinate resources/requirements effectively Analytical thinking to make robust decisions using sound interpretation of data, information and processes Bring vitality and enthusiasm that aligns with Zoetis Companion Animal Purpose: “To pioneer in animal health so that pets can live their best lives” Key Account Manager Core Competencies Solution Selling Understand Our Business & Customers Strategic Account Planning & Management (including financial spend, ROI and projections) Negotiation Technical & Commercial Knowledge Business Acumen Acts Decisively with Good Judgement Builds Trust with Customers Collaborates with Others/Teamwork Accountable for Results Presentation Skills Project Management Digital Dexterity & Fluency Data Fluency Training & Qualifications Formal qualifications in Key Account Management, Business, or Finance are viewed favourably, reflecting the commercial scope and analytical nature of this role. Experience 3–5 years experience in Key Account Management, preferably within the animal health, pharmaceutical, or FMCG industry.
