We are looking for A Customer Service‑Focused Key Account Operator based in a branch in Cape Town, where you'll be at the forefront of building, managing, and nurturing relationships with our most valued clients. This role is all about delivering excellence, you'll oversee the day‑to‑day operations of our Key Account customers, ensuring they receive top‑tier service at every touchpoint. Please note that this is a 6 month fixed term contract. It is important to note that we specifically require business to business customer service experience. Business to consumer experience is not sufficient for this role. What you will be doing: · You will be the first point of contact for all matters related to your Key Account customers, ensuring they always feel supported and valued. · Partner with key internal stakeholders to swiftly obtain and relay delivery status updates, keeping your Key Account customers informed and reassured. · Provide timely and relevant updates to your Key Account customers through face‑to‑face meetings, phone calls, and emails, building strong relationships and trust. · Manage the entire Key Account cycle from start to finish, taking charge and ensuring every detail is flawlessly executed. · Escalate any additional charges to your line manager before discussing them with customers, ensuring a smooth and transparent process. · Ensure all information for quote preparation and consignment processing is fully compliant with HMRC customs regulations, keeping everything on track and above board. · Provide a variety of customised quotes to meet your customers’ evolving needs, helping them succeed while winning business for the company. · Verify that commodity codes and invoices are accurate and processed for dispatch, ensuring a seamless and error‑free operation. · Quickly escalate and resolve any problematic issues, ensuring they are addressed efficiently and effectively. · Assist the Key Account Team Manager by providing insightful statistics on customer performance and trends through our Customer Service Database, Leonardo. · Embrace any additional duties requested by your line manager, contributing to a dynamic and supportive team environment. · Uphold and embody our company values, known as ‘Our Approach to Business,’ in everything you do, driving our mission forward with integrity and passion. Our Ideal Person: · A deep commitment to ensuring customers feel supported and valued, always putting their needs first. · Background within Ocean, Air or Road freight will be an advantage. · Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring every part of the Key Account cycle is flawlessly executed. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills for providing timely, clear, and relevant updates to customers and stakeholders. · The ability to build and maintain strong, trust‑based relationships with Key Account customers. · Organisational abilities to manage the entire Key Account cycle efficiently and ability to solve problems quickly. · Understanding of HMRC customs regulations and compliance requirements would be desirable. · Efficiently manage time to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines without compromising quality. · Familiarity with customer service databases like Leonardo and other relevant tools to support account management activities.
