Sports Data Analysis & Performance Modelling Content Writer Setanta College is seeking an Academic Content Writer to craft postgraduate learning materials for our MSc module in Sports Data Analysis & Performance Modelling. The module will establish a foundation in sport analytics, covering essential programming principles, data ethics, and current industry trends. Learners will frame performance analysis problems by translating coaching questions into measurable constructs and designing an analytics pipeline. The key steps include identifying relevant performance indicators, selecting appropriate metrics, and understanding tools to address performance issues. Practical aspects such as data collection through GPS and video analysis, as well as API‑based data extraction, will also be emphasized. The module will focus on preparing and analysing data effectively. This includes data wrangling, handling missing values and outliers, and troubleshooting. Learners will explore descriptive statistics, visualization techniques, and dashboard creation for exploratory analysis. Advanced topics will cover statistical foundations, hypothesis testing, and implementing these methods in analysis tools. Predictive modelling through regression, machine learning techniques like classification and clustering, and effective communication of sports data will round out the module. Finally, participants will learn storytelling with data to support decision‑making and create impactful narratives.
