We are looking to recruit a Data Architect within the Group IT department of The Clicks Group. The role will be based at Clicks Head Office in Cape Town and will report to the Executive: Data Management and Enterprise Architecture. Job Purpose: We are seeking a skilled Data Architect to shape our information architecture landscape, strategy, solutions, governance framework, policies, and standards. The role involves driving the effective delivery of data management services to enable informed decision-making based on data-driven insights. The successful candidate will guide our data architecture, integration, data quality, integrity, security, and governance practices. Key Responsibilities: Assess business needs and align operational plans with business objectives. Develop and implement business intelligence security strategies and operational plans. Design and architect BI solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and data management best practices. Lead the design, development, and modification of data infrastructure to accelerate data analysis and reporting processes. Ensure data quality and consistency across Data solutions. Inform security measures to protect Data assets and ensure compliance with data protection regulations. Evaluate and incorporate emerging Data technologies and trends. Oversee the design of data integration processes and ETL workflows. Establish and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders. Manage vendor relationships to ensure alignment with business needs. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the data management unit. Develop and guide implementation of data management governance practices to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Qualifications: Minimum Required: Diploma in Information Studies, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or an equivalent relevant qualification. Preferred: Degree in the above fields. Experience: 10 years of experience in the IT environment, with 2 years or more in a senior technical lead role. Strong knowledge of Data Governance and Analysis, Intelligence/Data Analytics principles, tools, and best practices. Working knowledge of programming and statistical computer languages (Python, SQL, R etc.) and cutting-edge data quality management solutions. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements such as Data Privacy and Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Strong knowledge of Data Architecture approaches to Data Warehousing eg. Kimbal, DataLake, Lakehouse, Data Bricks etc. Competent with approaches, platforms for big data use cases in the cloud. Competent with DevOps practices in Data development (MLOps advantageous).
