Role: Junior System Support Engineer Location: Century City - Cape Town - ONSITE (No out of town applications will be considered) Salary: + / - R15k pm CTC Transport: A valid driver's license (manual) is non-negotiable, and owning your own car is preferred. Start Date: January 2026 Overview We’re looking for a proactive and technically skilled Junior IT Support Technician to join our client’s team. This role is primarily remote, providing desktop and occasional server support across a range of Wintel technologies. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit client sites for ad‑hoc consulting and SLA‑based engagements. Key Responsibilities Provide remote desktop support and maintenance for Windows 10 / 11 environments. Respond to alerts and incidents flagged by our Network Operations Centre monitoring tools. Resolve 1st line support tickets and service requests efficiently. Assist with system changes, upgrades, and small‑scale IT projects. Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external clients. Occasionally participate in after‑hours support rotations (shadowing or assisting). Essential Skills and Experience Minimum 2 years overall experience – with an interest in the IT MSP industry Working knowledge with Windows 2012 R2 / 2016 / 2019 / 2022 Entry‑level experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, PKI etc. Entry‑level experience with VMware vSphere 5.5 or above Entry‑level experience with Hyper‑V 2012 or above Entry‑level experience / understanding of patch testing and deployment Good understanding of IP addressing and subnetting Entry‑level understanding of mass storage like SANs and NAS devices Entry‑level knowledge of VLANs, routing, firewall behaviour, packet shaping etc. Comfortable working in server rooms / datacentres, racking and cabling up kit if required Strong communication (both written and verbal) and comfortable face‑to‑face in both English and Afrikaans Entry‑level knowledge of ITIL framework mindset in terms of structured incident management, request management, change management, contractual scope alignment etc. Entry‑level knowledge of Exchange 2016 and above Required Qualifications CompTIA A+ and N+ Diploma or degree in Computer Science Beneficial Qualifications Microsoft Certified : Azure Administrator Associate | Microsoft Certified : Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate | Microsoft Certified Professional Microsoft Certification (e.g., MD-102 : Endpoint Administrator, MS-900 : 365 Fundamentals) - Beneficial Exchange | O365 VCP-DCV (VMware Certified Professional) or Hyper‑V Veeam Ready to Advance Your IT Career?
