Communications Practitioner – Sappi We're on the lookout for an experienced Communication Practitioner to implement the internal communications plan for the business unit, providing tactical support to relevant stakeholders regarding External Communication, Community Relations, Social Impact, and Government Relations. The role aligns with Sappi SA's communication mission and executes relevant Sappi policies, guidelines, and processes following best practice. As a Communication Practitioner, You Will Implement operational communications to support business strategies for key stakeholders such as the Risk Department, Employee Well-being, Human Resources, and the General Manager, including end-to-end management of strategic communication planning, compiling, and distribution. Provide functional and administrative support for the execution of relevant projects and plans. Engage and implement key Social Impact initiatives at the Business Unit (BU) level. Develop content for various communication tools, including newsletters, flyers, posters, and video scripts, and oversee production such as photography, proofreading, and graphic design. Manage our Corporate Identity (CI) by overseeing the application of Sappi CI on all assets and at events. Plan, coordinate, and execute key events such as Long Service and Retirement Events, GM Review Meetings, and departmental events like Global Safety Month and Women's Day. Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of internal communication tools, channels, and key messages for impact and effectiveness. Generate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual communication reports and participate in departmental planning and review meetings. Perform financial administration, including compiling project budgets, managing spend, and creating orders on SAP. Maintain effective working relationships with the GM's office, Heads of Departments, suppliers, and internal and external stakeholders. What are we looking for? NQF6 degree in Public Relations or Communications or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing / plant environment. Minimum of 6–7 years of relevant experience in communications. Code 08 driver's license with three years of driving experience and own transport.
