More about the role This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a Logistics Manager in South Africa . Logistics & Supply Chain Operations Manage inbound and outbound logistics, warehousing, distribution, and transportation functions. Optimize routing, scheduling, and delivery operations to ensure timely fulfilment. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to maintain optimal stock. Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with South African customs and logistics regulations. Financial Management & Cost Control Develop and manage logistics budgets, cost forecasts, and financial reports. Conduct cost analysis to identify inefficiencies, overspending, and cost‑saving opportunities. Implement cost‑avoidance strategies through vendor negotiation and process optimization. Evaluate logistics contracts and service provider agreements with a focus on ROI and total cost of ownership. Performance Management & KPI Tracking Define, implement, and track KPIs for logistics operations. Analyze performance data to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Present KPI reports to senior management with recommendations. Vendor, Carrier & Stakeholder Management Manage relationships with transporters, warehouses, freight forwarders, and 3PL providers. Conduct supplier performance evaluations and ensure compliance with SLAs. Coordinate collaboration with finance, procurement, operations, and sales teams. Compliance, Risk Management & Quality Assurance Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and labour regulations in South Africa. Oversee risk management practices to mitigate transport and supply chain disruptions. Maintain quality standards for goods handling, storage, and distribution. Systems, Reporting & Continuous Improvement Utilize ERP/WMS/TMS systems to optimize operational accuracy. Drive digital transformation initiatives within logistics operations. Lead continuous improvement programs using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies. More about you While we value and appreciate all applicants, we believe that the following experience and skills will be needed to shine brightly in this job opening: Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field. 5–10 years’ experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role. Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis. Experience working with KPIs, dashboards, and performance management.
