Senior Commvault Backup Engineer A leading IT services provider is seeking an experienced Senior Commvault Backup Engineer to join their Service Delivery team. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient backup solutions for cloud clients, while providing senior‑level technical support and troubleshooting. Qualifications Matric (NQF 4) with IT‑related certifications (CompTIA A+/N+, ITIL, MCSA, Azure Fundamentals). Advanced Commvault certifications (CVCSA, CCE, Certified Professional 2020). 4–7 years’ hands‑on Commvault experience, including backup software support. Strong knowledge of cloud technologies and backup architecture (SAN, LAN, WAN). Windows and/or Unix systems administration background. Proven ability in Commvault installation, configuration, monitoring, and optimisation. Skilled in troubleshooting backup failures, restores, and workflow design. Strong communication skills to engage with customers directly on incidents and resolutions. Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and capable of working under pressure. Responsibilities Manage and rectify backup failures, restores, and system configurations. Optimise CommCell environments and recommend infrastructure improvements. Develop workflows and adapt software functionality to client needs. Provide escalated technical support, reporting, and chargeback documentation.
